HOURS: Tuesday / Thursday 11:00am to 4:00pm and Saturday 7:00am to 4:00pm

Closed for the following Holidays: Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day, and Memorial Day.

The following are accepted at the Shaftsbury Vermont Recycling Center:

PLASTIC (Containers with necks, such as Water bottles, cider jugs and milk jugs. Please remove all caps.)

TIN CANS (You do not have to crush cans or remove labels -- just wash them, please.)

ALUMINUM (Washed cat food cans and aluminum pie plates, but no foil.)

GLASS (Clear, blue, brown, or green glass, ceramics, china and porcelain, broken or whole. You can leave labels on, but please remove caps.)

PAPER (Newspaper, white paper, envelopes, magazines and single-ply cardboard such as cereal boxes and egg cartons, but not milk cartons. Please bag shredded paper.)

OIL (Motor oil only, no more than 5 gallons per week, Oil-filters - residential only, no commercial use! Oil jugs must be completely drained.)

HAZARDOUS WASTE DAY for Shaftsbury, Pownal and Stamford residents. NOTE: Current transfer station permits for Shaftsbury, Pownal or Stamford are needed to use this free service.
